Camaçari is the second most populous city in the Salvador Metropolitan Region. Its population has portuguese, indigenous and black influence, manifested in cultural traditions, such as the Boi Janeiro de Parafuso party, the oldest in the city, celebrated with dance and music performances since the 1930s.
Being the headquarters of Ford Motor Company Brazil and the Camaçari Industrial Complex contrasts with its three Environmental Protection Areas - APAs: Joanes / Ipitanga, Capivara River and Guarajuba Lagoons. There are more than 42 kilometers of paradisiacal beaches.
The fascinating Busca Vida beach is in Camaçari and is bathed in its right bank by the Joanes River. The beach is 9 km long with calm waters and almost deserted for holidays, including surf spots suitable for surfing too, natural pools and rocks.
The region where Busca Vida is concentrated is the largest number of sea turtle spawns in the country - approximately two tousand, which generate about 180 thousand offspring each season, mainly the species Cabeçuda and Pente. The monitoring of Search-Life, among other sections, is done by the TAMAR base of Arembepe.
