Bird Watching
The Plaza Caldas da Imperatriz Resort & Spa was the first unit of the Plaza Hotels Chain to encourage bird watching practice or “birding”. Take a walk around the 10 acres of Resort’s gardens, between the mountains of the Serra do Tabuleiro, and observe some of the 300 bird species in the region. It is common to see them grazing, jumping, eating, fighting, dating, feeding puppies. This is a real relaxation therapy, which alternates with the rush to find a species you really wanted to see, or when they land near or allow you to approach.
Enjoy the monitoring biologist Fernando Brüggemann, author of “A Look Naturalist of Serra do Tabueleiro and Region”, a great connoisseur of birds and of all nature of Santa Catarina!
